How to enable Google Play Direct Carrier Billing

1. Go to “Play Store” and tap the menu button at the top left-hand corner
2. Tap “My account”
3. Tap “Enable SmarTone HK billing”
4. Enter your phone number, name and address, and tap “Save”
5. Confirm the information and tap “Accept”
6. Agree the Terms of Service and tap “Save”
7. “Bill my SmarTone HK account” has been set as the default payment method

Remark: For first-time registration on your Android smartphone, you will need to be connected to SmarTone network.

  • Q1 Is “Google Play Direct Carrier Billing” available to all customers?

    This service is currently available to customers with monthly service plan subscription except PayGo customers, SmarTone stored-value SIM customers, or customers who have subscribed with a business registration.

  • Q2 If I change to a new SIM card or another smartphone, do I need to enable “Google Play Direct Carrier Billing” again with my Google Play account?

    Yes, you will need to enable the service again.

  • Q3 After enabling “Google Play Direct Carrier Billing”, can I change to another payment method?

    Yes, you can simply go to “My account” on Google Play to select another payment method.

  • The service can only be used on smartphones running Android 2.2 or above with Google Play.
  • The Service is only available to customers who have subscribed to the Company’s monthly mobile telephone services (except customers who have subscribed with a business registration or are using SmarTone PayGo) and customers who are using selected SmarTone stored-value SIMs (Barkadahan sa SmarTone & Sahabat Setia SmarTone).
  • All new SmarTone monthly bill service accounts are subject to a limit of HK$300 per month for purchases via Pay by SmarTone Bill during the first 180 days after activation of the mobile telephone service. Thereafter, the limit will be changed to HK$800 per month. The purchase limit of Pay by SmarTone Bill for selected SmarTone stored-value SIMs is HK$800.
  • All purchases on Google Play are made from Google and prevailing Google Play Terms & Conditions apply.
  • The service provided by SmarTone only serves as a payment method. For any refunds, customer need to contact the developers or Google directly. Refunds can only be performed by the developer or Google.
