Tiantong-1 now covers regions including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Palau, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Timor-Leste, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
Whether customers can enjoy this service depends on two factors:
1) the model of their device and
2) the regulations governing satellite network use in their region. Currently, only Huawei Pura 70 Ultra supports Satellite Voice & SMS. If customers use Huawei Pura 70 Ultra in any of the covered areas outside of Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, they will not be able to connect to the satellite network and enjoy this service.
You will need to use a compatible mobile phone or device with satellite communication capabilities in Hong Kong and within the service coverage area. For more details, please contact the respective mobile device manufacturers and app developers.
It typically takes around 30 seconds to connect to Tiantong-1, but this can vary depending on the satellite signal strength, your location and the weather.
To make a call, manually connect to the satellite network and dial [+] + [Country Code] + [Area Code] + [Phone Number]. For example, if you call Hong Kong numbers, you will need to dial [+852]
Your number with the prefix [+852] will be displayed on the receiver's phone.
The incoming call will be displayed as [+] + [Country Code] + [Area Code] + [Incoming Phone Number]. You will also receive an Overseas Call Alert, and charges will be applied based on standard voice call rates of Satellite Voice & SMS service.
Each SMS is limited to 160 characters or 70 non-English characters, including spaces, punctuations and emojis. When you send a message via this service, it includes system-generated headers and footers, which count toward the character limit. If you include location data in your message, those characters are also added to the total.
We bill based on the start and end times of calls recorded by the network, which may differ from the records displayed on your mobile phone.
