Terms & Conditions for 4.5G “FlexiChoice” Speed Upgrade Day Plan
  • This service plan is available for GoodCare customers (Excluding Voice Call GoodCare Plan).
  • The Customer is required to activate for the 4.5G “FlexiChoice” Speed Upgrade Day Plan through activation code *128#
  • Upon successful activation of the service, charges for 4.5G “FlexiChoice” Speed Upgrade Day Plan will commence. Charge is levied daily. This service plan is valid for 24 hours from activation.
  • “Upgraded” Roaming Data Day Plan can still be applied after service activation of 4.5G “FlexiChoice” Speed Upgrade Day Plan. For service terms and conditions of "Upgraded" Roaming Data Day Plan can be referred to T&C-I029
  • 4.5G "FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan is not applicable for usage on peer-to-peer applications (P2P), FTP file sharing and webcam applications. If usage is incurred from or by P2P including applications such as (but not limited to) BitTorrent, eDonKey, FlashGet, Foxy, WinMX, PPLive and PPStream; FTP file sharing; or webcam applications; or if there is any abusive or abnormal usage; the Company has the right to forthwith suspend/terminate “Upgraded” Roaming Data Day Plan without notice and charge the Customer at the Company’s standard roaming rate. All commercial or illegal promotion activities via the use of 4.5G “FlexiChoice” Speed Upgrade Day Plan shall be prohibited.
  • This Service Plan is not applicable to 2G phones / connected devices or any phones / connected devices which have manually opted for 2G network.
  • Data Services for Service Plan (“the Data Services”):
    i) The 4G Data Service is only available with compatible phones and SIM cards.
    ii) The data usage applies to local use only. Standard roaming data charge applies during roaming.
    iii) Without speed throttling or data capping, but access to network resources will be given lower priority and data service experience may be affected
    iv) Users of Blackberry 7 OS and earlier version need to subscribe to the specified Blackberry service plan for the data usage.
    v) The Customer must use the Data Services with settings [including but not limited to the APN setting (only applicable to data services)] and devices specified by the Company. Customer can check with the Company’s front-line staffs for the latest information on setting and devices. If the Customer does not follow this specification in the use of the Data Services, the Company has the right to forthwith suspend / terminate the Data Services without notice. Also the Company has the right to charge the Customer use of the Data Services at the Company’s prevailing rate.

Are all SmarTone customers eligible to apply for the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan?

As long as you are a GoodCare Plan customer (except for Voice Calls GoodCare Plan customers), you are eligible for this plan. To enjoy unlimited high speed mobile experience, we recommend you to use a 4G mobile phone and change your smartphone setting to 4G (LTE).

Q2:
Should I choose the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan or get upgraded to the “Super Care Plan for Smartphones”?
A2:
These two plans are designed for SmarTone customers of different needs. If you always require a higher internet speed for emails, browsing websites, social media sites and other apps, the "Super Care Plan for Smartphones" is considered as more suitable and convenient whereas the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan is more suitable for customers requiring a speed upgrade for occasional needs.

Does the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan cover all kinds of data usage?

"4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan can be used for email, apps, browsing and tethering, but excludes FTP file sharing,peer-to-peer applications and webcam applications.

How is a day defined for the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan?

A day is defined as 24 hours from activation

Which phones or tablets support the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan?

All smartphones, tablets or iPads can be upgraded to the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan and be changed to 4G (LTE).

Q6:
Can I register the "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan and the “Upgraded Roaming Data Day Plan” at the same time?

Yes. Both plans will be activated at the same time and incur charges. "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan is valid for 24 hours from activation whereas the “Upgraded Roaming Data Day Plan” is valid until 23:59 of local time when roaming.

Q7:
How long does it take to access the 4.5G network after applying online or by phone?

You will receive a confirmation SMS in a few minutes upon a successful application to experience our 4.5G network.

Q8:
I am using Voice Calls GoodCare Plan ($68/$198). Am I eligible to apply for this plan?
A8:
This speed upgrade plan is only applicable for the GoodCare Plan users with data usage. If you need local data usage and also this service, we suggest you to upgrade to another GoodCare Plan first.

Q9:
If I apply for "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan more than once a day, how much will I get charged?

The "4.5G FlexiChoice" Speed Upgrade Day Plan is valid for 24 hours from activation so it only requires one application. Repeated applications within 24 hours from activation will not be accepted.
