(5 May 2003, Hong Kong) – SmarTone Mobile
Communications Limited recently launched Phonebook
Backup Service for all mobile phone users in Hong Kong, be
they SmarTone’s customers or not,
as part of its continuing effort to enhance customer service. The Phonebook Backup Service
allows phonebook records in mobile phones
and SIM cards to be backed up to a floppy disk as well as
SIM to
SIM transfer.
All mobile phone users
can now enjoy the Phonebook Backup Service by having the phonebook of their mobile phones or SIM cards backed up instantly into a floppy disk at any SmarTone shop. With this service, mobile phone users no longer have to worry about
losing phonebook records due to either loss of mobile phone / SIM card or
accidental deletion of contact list.
Also
at SmarTone shops, SIM card data can be transferred to SmarTone’s SIM card upon
customers’ port-in. A maximum of 255 phonebook
records can be backed up each time.
“The Phonebook Backup Service is
just one of the many ways that SmarTone offers customers a better service. It enables mobile phone users to better
manage the important information in their phonebooks and avoid the inconvenience
of losing their phonebook information,” said Mr. Douglas Li, Chief Executive Officer of
SmarTone.
