SmarTone’s Excellent Customer Service Validated by Regional Awards

 

(4 April 2003, Hong Kong) – SmarTone Mobile Communications Limited today announced the winning of three awards from the Asia Pacific Customer Service Consortium (“APCSC”):

-         Customer Relationship Excellence - Outstanding Achievement”,

-         “Call Center of the Year (for Telecommunications)”, and

-         “Customer Service Professional of the Year”.

 

Mr. Douglas Li, Chief Executive Officer of SmarTone said, “Customer service is one of the three pillars of SmarTone’s business.  SmarTone continues to receive industry-wide recognition in Hong Kong for best customer service, beating all other mobile operators in winning numerous major industry and service awards.  We are highly honoured to receive the awards from the APCSC, elevating the recognition of our excellence in customer service to regional level beyond Hong Kong."

 

Mr. Jason Chu, Chairman of the APCSC said, “The Customer Relationship Excellence (CRE) awards have been running in the United States and Australia for many years. This is the first time that APCSC has launched the awards in Asia Pacific.  Highly impressed by SmarTone’s world-class service quality, the APCSC is pleased to announce SmarTone as the overall winner of the 2002 CRE Awards, winning the Customer Relationship Excellence - Outstanding Achievement’ amongst 20 corporate candidates in the region.”

 

“The objective of the APCSC is to promote customer relationship as a core business value across Asia Pacific and to recognise companies and individuals that have contributed to the success of both their customers and the organizations that they serve,” added Mr. Chu.

 

SmarTone’s call center was nominated as “Call Center of the Year (for Telecommunications)” for utilising innovative methods, metrics and ideas to provide quality support to customers with strong business performance.  Moreover, SmarTone’s nominated staff was awarded “Customer Service Professional of the Year” for her exceptional customer service skills and a passion for ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved or exceeded at each and every contact.


The APCSC’s acknowledgement adds to a growing number of awards that SmarTone has already won*.  Other notable achievement of SmarTone includes the winning of the Best Team Performance Award for the second year running at the 2002 Service and Courtesy Award presented by the Hong Kong Retail Management Association (“HKRMA”), the leading authoritative body representing the whole retail industry in Hong Kong.  This unprecedented record in this competition reflects the broad consistent high standard achieved by SmarTone’s whole front-line team.
